The humane removal of Bees. On a recent episode of BBC’s Springwatch, the presenter showed an example of Tree Bumble Bees ventilating their nest, which was located inside of a cavity in a brick wall.
He explained that, to cool and ventilate the nest, which must be done as the temperature inside rises rapidly on hot days, a number of worker Bees gather outside of the nest hole and flap their wings. This directs cooler air into the nest.
It is a nature’s very inventive way to ventilate the nest and it is something that is often done by other social insects, including the Common Wasp, Hornets and Honey Bees.
BEE SPOTTING
Can you tell the difference between a a Wasp and a Bee? Many people easily mistake Wasps for Bees. In the spring, you will see different types of Bees in the garden, all busily collecting pollen and doing that all-important pollination work, so it is important to understand that the behaviour of the Bee and the Wasp is very different. Likewise, the nest treatments we carry out, are also totally different.
THE humane removal of BEES NEST

We are often called out to instances where a householder or property owner has a problem with Bees.
We work with local bee keepers in the removal of nests. Once the bee keeper has removed the queen and as much of the honeycomb the bees are taken away for re-homing.
It’s then our job to ensure that they do not return to the nest site. To do this we proof the site, on this occasion inside a chimney, we remove the chimney pot, proof off the location with mesh and the chimney pot is then cemented back in place.
